How does it work?
Basically the system can be thought of as an intranet - an internet enabled computer
system based in the building where it is to be used. The system is designed for
use on a network and any computer linked to that network can access the system.
You can access the system anywhere, whether you're at school, home or even on holiday!
Everyone in your school from pupils and parents, to teachers, admin and maintenance
staff will have secure access to the system via the use of usernames and passwords.
All system users are assigned user rights dependent on their roles within the school.
System Overview
Whole school approach
Pathways for Schools take a holistic view of the school as a community of different
but interdependent roles and responsibilities. Teachers, subject leaders, pastoral
tutors and team leaders, pupils, parents, governors, partner schools are all stakeholders
in this community who need to effectively communicate with each other.
Not only does Pathways for Schools reduce time spent on administrative tasks, it
is also very much an education tool for teachers, assisting them in completing tasks
of both an administrative and educational nature on a day to day basis.
Not a one-size-fits-all solution
Although schools have broadly similar goals, they approach them in diverse ways.
Pathways for Schools has a flexible approach and recognises that each installation
needs to be personalised to the specific needs of the school.
Workflow management
Pathways for Schools introduces a unique concept to the handling of data and information
in schools. The system recognises the roles and responsibilities of education professionals
and is able to match information to users, thus ensuring that people only ever receive
or gain access to information which impacts upon their specific roles.
Information is sent straight to you - you don't have to go looking for it!
Educational tool for school community
Pathways for Schools breaks down traditional barriers to learning for students through
providing personalised individual homepages detailing teacher specified learning
materials and resources, homework, academic progress and the ability to communicate
with class mates and teachers.
